About Us

Sunrise Balloons is a family owned and operated company, which has been flying in the region since 1998. Owners Hugh & Maureen are supported by their son Carrick (Chief Pilot), daughter Kirsty (Operations & Bookings), son Graham (Swordfox) is our IT expert.

Our Pilots

Hugh, the CEO and owner of Sunrise Balloons, has over 1500 hours in hot air balloons and over 2000 hours in fixed wing aircraft, he currently owns and flies a Cessna 180.

Son Carrick (Rock), is our chief pilot. Carrick is married to Justine with two sons, Fletcher and Carter and a daughter, Milla.

Ben is another of our Pilots. Originally from Wales, he is now settled in Queenstown. Ben is married to Kezia with daughter Meika and son Kobe.
